Individual Psychotherapy with Dr. Frashure, PhD
“This is a place where you can set judgment aside, build curiosity about your life’s meaning, develop a gentler mindset, and come to terms with who you really are and what you want out of life.”
Dr. Robert Frashure is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in working with creative professionals, writers, and artists. With an A.B. from Harvard College and an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts, he has deep experience working with LGBTQ+ individuals, trauma, and parenting. His therapy sessions are a warm, engaging, and creative experience.
As a licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Frashure offers a unique perspective on the human experience. His extensive post-doctoral fellowship in contemporary psychoanalysis from the Wright Institute (WILA), Los Angeles, has allowed him to delve into the depths of the human psyche and engage with a wide range of emotional and psychological landscapes. His deep understanding of attachment theory provides a strong foundation for his work with individuals seeking insight and transformation through healing relationships.
Dr. Frashure’s fusion of psychology and the arts allows him to engage with individuals on multiple levels, exploring the power of the human imagination and its dynamic expression in various forms of media. He delves deep into the realms of the imagination, myths, politics, and attachment theory, all while connecting the threads of art, film, and music to our everyday lives.
Given the complexity and instability of the world we live in together, he understands why so many individuals are feeling anxious, stressed, burned out, lost, and in need of direction. He believes that therapy can be an essential place during this time, where you can just be yourself, feel relaxed and playful, let your worries subside, feel less alone, seek inspiration, and discover the joyful parts of life most important to your thriving. Therapy can also be a place to explore all kinds of issues that you choose, including how early attachment figures influence current relationships, how societal pressures and oppressive narratives have pushed you to stray from your true direction in life, and practical strategies for self-care that can lead to a more cohesive self, better relationships, better work capacity, better self-esteem, a better sex life, increased capacity to have pleasure and fun, improved coping skills, and increased creativity.
